St. Joan of Arc is one of those people who inspires almost everyone. The quote that ran through my head as I drew her was “To sacrifice what you are and to live without belief - that is a fate more terrible than dying”

What an amazing principle to live by.

In her simplicity, she trusted God with everything, and gave Him her all - her loyalty, her obedience, her doubts. And we are all called to the same radical abandonment to the Lord. Maybe we won’t be given a task like Joan of Arc’s, but we can submit ourselves to the will of God wherever we are. It’s not the tasks that are accomplished in this life that matters, but the heart with which we do them. St. Joan of Arc, ora pro nobis!
